Counter-Balanced Putters

Posted on March 21, 2014
In 2013, the USGA and R&A placed a ban on the anchored putting stroke that will go into effect in 2016. With players on the professional and amateur levels using the anchored putting stroke, many felt uncomfortable about changing back to a traditional style of putter. However, since that time, we have started to see an emergence of counter balanced putters. So what makes a putter counter balanced? Simply adding weight in the grip end makes the putter counter balanced. The weight of the putter head works with the additional weight in the grip to create a balance point that you would achieve by anchoring, creating more stability and giving the player the feel of a smoother stoke. Players of all levels can certainly benefit from this technology. We currently have a couple of different models of this style of putter in the golf shop. Stop in and try one to see if this technology works for you!
