When is your golf ball out of bounds?

Posted on October 02, 2013
When your golf ball is on the out of bounds line, how do you know when it is in or it's out? According to the Rules of Golf, the ball is out of bounds when it is beyond the boundaries of the course. A ball is out of bounds when ALL of it lies out of bounds. When stakes are used to define out of bounds, the inside point of the stake at ground level is used. When a painted line is used to define out of bounds, the line itself is out of bounds and extends vertically upward. Remember, all of the ball must lie out of bounds or the ball is in play!
